Osaka Namba Onyado Nono + Tokyo Asakusa Onyado Nono: Accommodation Sharing and Review
The Japanese Dormy Inn hotel chain launched a new hotel series in 2016 called “Onyado Nono” featuring a Japanese-style aesthetic. As of October 2025, there are a total of fourteen “Onyado Nono” series hotels across Japan, with two each in Tokyo and Osaka. Since 2016, I have stayed at three Onyado Nono hotels: the “Onyado Nono Sakaiminato” (天然温泉 夕凪の湯 御宿 野乃 境港) in Sakaiminato, Tottori Prefecture, the “Onyado Nono Namba” (天然温泉 花風の湯 御宿 野乃なんば) in Osaka, and the “Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei” (天然温泉 凌天の湯 御宿 野乃浅草 別邸) in Tokyo.

The “天然温泉 境港 夕凪の湯 御宿 野乃” in Sakaiminato, Tottori Prefecture, was the first Onyado Nono hotel. We happened to travel to Sakaiminato in July 2016, shortly after it opened, so we tried it out for our first stay at an Onyado Nono. The second Onyado Nono hotel is the “天然温泉 富山 剱の湯 御宿 野乃” in Toyama City, which we have not stayed at.
The third Onyado Nono hotel is the “天然温泉 花風の湯 御宿 野乃 なんば” (Namba Onyado Nono) in Osaka’s Namba district, which opened in September 2016. When we traveled to Osaka during the Christmas period in 2016, we chose to stay at this newly opened Onyado Nono Namba hotel.
Most recently, during a trip to Tokyo for the 2024 Spring Festival, I stayed at an Onyado Nono for the third time, this time at the “天然温泉 凌天の湯 御宿 野乃浅草 別邸” (Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei) located in Tokyo’s Asakusa, which had just opened in January 2024.
The biggest feature and selling point of Onyado Nono is its hot spring bath, which can be described as an onsen ryokan in the heart of the city. Additionally, its delicious breakfast and free late-night ramen are also characteristics of Onyado Nono.

When traveling to Tottori in July 2016, I stayed at the “Onyado Nono Sakaiminato” which had just opened at the time. I was deeply impressed by Dormy Inn’s “Onyado Nono” series and really liked its Japanese-style atmosphere. When looking for accommodation for a Christmas trip to Osaka, I discovered that a new “Onyado Nono” series Dormy Inn had opened in Namba, and its location was excellent, so I was very keen to stay there.

Main entrance of Onyado Nono Namba

Onyado Nono Namba is a 12-story new building, completed in 2016.

However, as this Osaka Christmas trip was decided last minute in November after finding cheap air tickets, and the two nights in Osaka were on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which also fell on a weekend, hotels in Osaka for these two nights were very full. “Onyado Nono Namba” was of course fully booked early on. But because I really wanted to try this new Dormy Inn, even though I had already booked a backup hotel in Shinsaibashi, I kept checking to see if anyone canceled so I could “snag a last-minute room”. Finally, persistence paid off and I successfully booked “Onyado Nono Namba“.
1. Location & Transportation
The location of “Onyado Nono Namba” is quite优越, very suitable for friends who enjoy lingering and shopping in the Namba and Shinsaibashi shopping areas. The hotel is located on Namba Sakaiguchi, near Dotonbori, and most places in the Namba and Shinsaibashi shopping districts are within 1,000 meters. For example:
- Hotel to Ebisubashi Bridge – approx. 500 meters
- Hotel to Shinsaibashi Daimaru Department Store (Shinsaibashi Subway Station) – approx. 1,000 meters
- Hotel to Takashimaya Department Store (Nankai Railway Namba Station) – approx. 800 meters
- Hotel to Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street – approx. 600 meters
- Hotel to Kuromon Market – approx. 200 meters

Walking 50 meters north from the hotel leads to the entrance of Dotonbori pedestrian street.

The bustling Ebisubashi Bridge is only about 500 meters away. However, Shinsaibashi Shopping Street has become increasingly crowded with tourists in recent years, sometimes making it less appealing to venture into.

Kuromon Market is one of the must-visit places in Osaka. It’s only 200 meters from Onyado Nono Namba, making it very convenient for those who love exploring markets.

The Namba area has several shopping arcades, all just a few hundred meters from Onyado Nono Namba. Whether you’re going to Sennichimae Doguyasuji to buy kitchenware or to BIC CAMERA for electronics, you don’t have to walk far.

1.1 Nippombashi Subway Station
“Onyado Nono Namba” not only has an excellent location but also very convenient transportation. The Subway Sakaisuji Line and Sennichimae Line’s Nippombashi Station is only about 100 meters away from the hotel, extremely close. From Nippombashi Station, you can generally reach almost any Osaka attraction with just one transfer, and it also connects to Kansai Airport, Wakayama City, Expo Commemoration Park and EXPOCITY, Kyoto Kawaramachi and Karasuma, Arashiyama, Uji, Nara City, Kobe City, and other places. Therefore, “Onyado Nono Namba” is more convenient in terms of transportation compared to previously stayed hotels like Cross Hotel Osaka, Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka, Hotel Nikko Osaka, and Namba Oriental Hotel.
Exit 6 of Nippombashi Subway Station is closest to Onyado Nono Namba. After exiting to ground level from Exit 6, walk about 100 meters back to reach the hotel. However, Exit 6 only has stairs, no escalator or elevator. If you have luggage or need an elevator, you must use another exit described below.

If you need to use an elevator, you have to walk a bit further. The exit with an elevator is located next to Exit 10, near Kuromon Market. When exiting the subway station, use the East Ticket Gate. After exiting the gate, you will see an elevator next to the stairs of Exit 10. However, since there is only one elevator, it’s not very large, and many people use it, you’ll need to be patient and wait.

After taking the elevator next to Exit 10 up to ground level, use the crosswalk to cross the street to reach Exit 6, then walk forward about 100 meters to reach Onyado Nono Namba.

From Nipponbashi Station, you can basically get to any place you need to go. Below are the transportation methods from Nipponbashi Station to some major attractions and locations.
2. To/From Kansai Airport
The most convenient way to get from Kansai Airport to “Onyado Nono Namba” is to take the Nankai Electric Railway to Tengachaya Station, then transfer to the Sakaisuji subway line to Nipponbashi Station. Tengachaya Station is the interchange point for the Nankai Main Line and the Sakaisuji subway line. They are not within the same station building, but the two stations are adjacent, so transferring doesn’t require walking far.
When transferring, you need to exit the Nankai Electric Railway station first, then go to the adjacent subway station to purchase a subway ticket for the transfer. The method is the same for the return trip from “Onyado Nono Namba” to Kansai Airport: first take the Sakaisuji subway line from Nipponbashi Station to Tengachaya Station, then transfer to the Nankai Electric Railway to Kansai Airport.
Tip: This transportation method also applies to other hotels located near Nipponbashi Station.
Nankai Electric Railway Tengachaya Station Exit

Sakaisuji Subway Line Tengachaya Station Exit. The Nankai Electric Railway Tengachaya Station exit is directly opposite.

Tengachaya is the terminal station for the Sakaisuji subway line, and it’s only three stops from Nipponbashi Station to Tengachaya Station, so this leg of the journey usually isn’t very crowded, making it easy to board. However, the Nankai Electric Railway trains heading from Namba towards Kansai Airport and Wakayama tend to be more crowded, especially during the evening rush hour. It’s often difficult to board the regular trains at Tengachaya Station, and it’s not ideal to compete with commuters for space with your luggage. Therefore, it’s recommended to take the Rapi:t limited express train, which has reserved seating and dedicated luggage space.
Nankai Electric Railway Rapi:t Limited Express Train

This transportation method from Kansai Airport via Tengachaya to Nipponbashi Station involves using two different modes of transport: the Nankai Electric Railway and the Osaka Metro. The Osaka Metro fare is 240 Yen. If you have purchased an Osaka Metro Pass, you can use it for this part.
For the Nankai Electric Railway, if taking the local train, a 970 Yen ticket is sufficient. However, if you want to take the Rapi:t, you need to purchase an additional 520 Yen limited express ticket, making the total 1,490 Yen. Adding the subway fare, the total cost for the entire journey would be 1,730 Yen.
However, Nankai Electric Railway offers discounted tickets for the Rapi:t that include both the base fare and the limited express surcharge. Purchasing online in advance costs 1,350 Yen, while purchasing on the day costs 1,380 Yen. This discounted ticket can be purchased on the Nankai Electric Railway official website or on other ticketing platforms. It’s recommended to purchase via Klook as you can use discount codes, making it cheaper than the official website.
Besides Klook, platforms like KKday and Trip.com also offer discounted Nankai Rapi:t limited express tickets. Below are the purchase links for each platform:

5. Parking
Onyado Nono Namba does not have its own parking lot. There is only one parking space for disabled persons in the hotel basement.

However, the hotel has a partnership with the adjacent Ikeda Parking lot, allowing guests to use its multi-level parking facility. But there are only 42 spaces, and parking overnight costs 2,500 yen.

For short-term parking, you can also use the outdoor parking spaces at the Ikeda Parking lot, but there aren’t many. However, there are several other parking lots near the hotel.

II. Environment and Facilities
Onyado Nono is Dormy Inn’s hotel series with a Japanese-style theme, so the main entrance and lobby of Onyado Nono Namba have a very Japanese feel.

One characteristic of Onyado Nono is that, except for the check-in counter area, shoes are not allowed anywhere inside the hotel. So before entering the main hotel areas, you must remove your shoes.

You can place your shoes in the dedicated shoe lockers. Each compartment can hold up to two pairs of shoes, has an individual lock. Remember to keep the key after storing your shoes.

If you prefer not to leave your shoes in the locker, you can also put them in a plastic bag and take them back to your room.

The entire interior of the hotel is covered with tatami mats and is kept very clean.

The elevators to the guest room floors require a room key card to press the buttons.

This small box inside the elevator can be used as a seat, but its most important function is actually as a toilet, usable if trapped and in need. It is already stocked with toilet paper, deodorizer, and drinking water for emergency use.

The design of the guest room corridors is even more Japanese in style, feeling almost like a traditional Japanese hot spring inn.

The hotel also features many Japanese flower arrangements as decorations.

Friends who have stayed at Dormy Inn before probably know that they offer free noodle soup every night. Although I’ve stayed at many Dormy Inns, I rarely had time to try their noodle soup. This time, during my stay at “Onyado Nono Namba”, I tried it one night.
The hotel’s restaurant is in the ground floor lobby. If your stay includes breakfast, it is served here. Dormy Inn’s Japanese breakfast is considered quite good for a hotel. However, because there are so many dining options in Namba, I didn’t book a stay with breakfast included this time.

The noodle soup is served from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM. However, because it was very crowded during the Christmas period, guests were still coming to eat after 11:00 PM.

A simple bowl of plain noodle soup, but it tasted good.

The most distinctive feature of Dormy Inn is its hot springs, so of course, Onyado Nono Namba also has hot springs for bathing. The hot spring bathhouse is located on the 2nd floor, so there is no view. You need to tap your room key card to enter the hot spring bathhouse, and the women’s bath requires a password.

The second floor also has paid self-service washing machines and dryers.

The hotel has several vending machines and also provides a free water dispenser.

If it rains, you can borrow hotel umbrellas placed next to the main entrance.

3. Rooms
The hotel site is not large, so there are only 16 guest rooms per floor.

Room Key Card

Room entrance. The toilet, sink, and wardrobe are located on either side of the entrance.

A sliding door separates the bedroom from the entrance. All newly built Dormy Inns now use this design.

A panoramic shot of the bedroom. This is the Moderate Twin Room with an area of 21 square meters.

I originally wanted to book a double room with one large bed, but it was fully booked, so I took the twin room instead; I thought the two beds could be pushed together like at La Vista Hakodate Bay Hotel, but it turns out the mattresses have a fixed frame underneath and cannot be moved.

There is a small sofa and a low round table in the bedroom, which are very comfortable to sit on.

On the other side of the bedroom is a low cabinet that serves as a TV stand, desk, and dressing table.

Teacups and an electric kettle are stored in the cabinet under the low cabinet.

The wallpaper on the room’s ceiling is also very distinctive, looking as if it’s woven from bamboo strips.

There is a large window by the head of the bed in the bedroom. Unfortunately, the 9th floor we stayed on wasn’t high enough, and the view outside was just the building next door.

The heating and cooling system in the rooms at Onyado Nono Namba are individual split-type units, not central air conditioning, so you can adjust them yourself.

The shower room and toilet are located outside the bedroom. The shower room has a shower design. Although the shower space is not large, it is quite comfortable to use. However, whenever I stay at a Dormy Inn, I always shower at the hot spring bathhouse and rarely use the shower room in the room.

Since shoes are not allowed anywhere indoors in the hotel, the floors are very clean. You can go without slippers in the corridors and rooms, and slippers are not provided in the rooms. However, you can request them from the front desk if needed. Slippers are still provided in the toilet, but they cannot be taken out of the toilet area.

The sink is also located in the entrance area, but is separate from the toilet.

Toothbrushing supplies and hairdryer. The hairdryer in the room is a Panasonic EH-NA27, but the one in the hot spring bathhouse is a Panasonic EH-NA97.

Under the sink is a small refrigerator containing two complimentary bottles of drinking water.

Next to the sink is a wardrobe, but it has no door, only a cloth curtain.

Inside the wardrobe, there is a small safe. Also, like in a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan), there is a small bamboo basket for carrying towels, clothes, and other items when going to the hot spring.

Basically, any Japanese hotel will have a humidifier. The one at Onyado Nono Namba is small in size but has a unique design. You need to fill the machine with water before use. Operation is simple; refer to the pictures in the instruction manual next to it for easy understanding.

Other amenities in the room.

Besides watching TV, the room’s television has other uses. One important function is to set whether you need room cleaning and towel replacement. It can also be used to check if the self-service washing machines and dryers on the 2nd floor are currently in use.

Finally, let’s look at the WiFi situation. Nowadays, hotels basically all have free WiFi. The WiFi signal in the rooms at Onyado Nono Namba is relatively strong, and the internet speed is fast.

4. Conclusion
If you like staying in small hotels with a Japanese hot spring feel, “天然温泉 花風の湯 御宿 野乃 なんば” should not disappoint you. As the third hotel in Dormy Inn’s “Onyado Nono” series, “Onyado Nono Namba” is definitely not lacking in quality, and its location and transportation add many plus points. If you are looking for an Osaka hotel with good quality, convenient transportation, and close to popular tourist and shopping areas, “Onyado Nono Namba” is certainly one of the very worthwhile options to consider.

Other Osaka Hotel Recommendations
In addition to the “Namba Onyado Nono” introduced in this article, the following Osaka hotels I have stayed in are also great accommodation choices in Osaka:
Tokyo Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei
There are two Onyado Nono hotels in Tokyo, both located in Asakusa and very close to each other. The one that opened earlier is “Onyado Nono Asakusa” (Natural Hot Spring Ryou’un no Yu Onyado Nono Asakusa), and the newest one is “Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei” (Natural Hot Spring Ryouten no Yu Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei), which just opened in January 2024. We stayed at “Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei” during our trip to Tokyo in February 2024 for the Chinese New Year.

Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei is located near Senso-ji Temple, close to the Asakusa shopping district pedestrian street. It’s very close to Senso-ji Temple, Kaminarimon Gate, and Nakamise-dori Shopping Street. Regarding transportation, the hotel is only about 200 meters from the Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station, but it’s quite far from the Tokyo Metro and Tobu Railway Asakusa Stations, with a distance of about 800~1,000 meters, requiring a 10~15 minute walk.
Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei does not have its own parking lot, but there are several parking lots not far from the hotel. Since the area isn’t very busy, finding a parking spot isn’t difficult. The parking lots have a maximum daily charge, generally around 4,000 JPY per day.

This was a trip with our child, so we didn’t have much time to take many hotel photos.

Onyado Nono Sakaiminato
“Onyado Nono Sakaiminato” (Natural Hot Spring Yuunagi no Yu Onyado Nono Sakaiminato) is the first Onyado Nono hotel. It had just opened when we stayed there during our trip to Sakaiminato in July 2017.

Onyado Nono Sakaiminato is located right next to JR Sakaiminato Station. The Gegege no Kitaro Street is right in front of the hotel, making its location very convenient for both transportation and sightseeing.
Onyado Nono Sakaiminato has its own parking lot, so you don’t have to worry about finding a place to park if you’re driving.
